Hai Phong, with its strategic location in northern Vietnam, is emerging as one of the country’s most important logistics and seaport hubs. The combination of deep-water ports, multi-modal transportation infrastructure, and coastal industrial zones gives the city a distinct advantage in developing a modern supply chain ecosystem.

Hai Phong currently hosts major ports such as Lach Huyen, Cai Lan, and Hai An, and continues to upgrade its capacity to accommodate large container vessels. Cargo throughput has been steadily increasing, reaching approximately 190 million tons in 2024, highlighting its significant potential to become a regional logistics center. Existing road, rail, and international airport networks further facilitate the creation of an integrated logistics chain, reducing transportation costs and shortening cargo transit times.

Recognizing these advantages, Kinh Bac and CTP Invest Ltd — a European industrial investor — have proposed cooperation with the Hai Phong People’s Committee to develop a comprehensive complex comprising seaports, an airport, logistics facilities, and integrated industrial zones. This proposal aims to fully leverage Hai Phong’s favorable geographic location while developing synchronized infrastructure to connect cargo across maritime, road, and air transport.

Moreover, Hai Phong’s coastal industrial and economic zones are rapidly expanding, providing ready land and infrastructure for integrated industrial-logistics projects. The combination of seaports, an airport, modern logistics systems, and adjacent industrial zones not only enhances corporate competitiveness but also promotes regional economic development, creates employment opportunities, and strengthens Vietnam’s import-export capabilities.

With its strategic location, infrastructure, and development potential, Hai Phong is clearly asserting its role as a logistics and seaport “bridge”, becoming a key transshipment point within the northern supply chain and expanding connectivity to international markets.
